PDR Technicians: A Scuffed Bumper Can Drive Customers To Madness! Part I

scuffed bumper

One of the biggest eyesores outside of small dents to car owners, is the scuffed bumper. You can also throw in key scratches, chipped door edge, rock chips, and rust spots. These are the issues that most owners will leave untreated because it costs more than the car is worth to fix it. The body shops will either replace an entire panel or bumper, and if done, they will have to repaint and then add the clear coat. So what was a five inch long scratch may as well as had the entire panel scratched up because the entire panel is going to be taken off and fixed anyway. It’s just frustrating for the owner and yet, they can’t stand staring at it. In their minds a scratch may as well have been a huge dent from a freight truck and it grows by the day. Again, in their mind.

The good news is, you have a solution for this. You can make their agonizing go away for a small fraction of the cost a body shop would. These are the struggles that you hear all over our nation. Now you need to go get them. The cost of taking this class will be paid off in no time with the amount of business you can get. Just for a second, look at how much you can make. If you are repairing a scuffed bumper, your retail amount for 45-90 minutes is $350 and your cost is $10. Now that’s a huge profit. If you were fixing a paint chip, scratch, rust, or rock chip it would take you 15 minutes for $75 and your cost is only $2. This is for one scratch, imagine if the vehicle owner had a really mad ex-girlfriend and she scratched the heck out of this car. You could stand to make quite a bit of money. It’s not your fault he made her so mad, but there’s no reason why you can’t profit off of it.
