I am sure you are acutely aware of the ongoing, grueling war with insurance companies and their constant drumming on our collision repair industry and its customers. This is a nationwide war and has mostly been the burden of the shops or PDR technicians to deal with. So many lawsuits have been filed against the Insurance companies, well it would make your head spin. Don’t get me wrong, it is time that the Insurance Companies step off and be held accountable for their actions. They have become the bulldogs in our industry and have made collision repair professionals work for far less than they are due. Most businesses won’t even get in bed with insurance companies anymore because they are unrealistic bullies. Overbearing and quite frankly, a dictatorship. They have gotten away with this poor behavior for decades and there has been no choice but to just take it.
Not anymore people, slowly we are winning the war and most of that has to do with shops that are just not willing to do that anymore. We’re not living in a dictatorship and these insurance company’s should not be allowed to treat us the way Stalin or Hitler treated others.
Fortunately, the horizons are looking brighter every day, one step at a time. Not only are the shops stepping up and suing the insurance companies, but now so are the collision repair customer’s. Well one at least.
It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up against what has beenswept under the protection of a rug. I understand a shop taking this step, but one single person is unheard of. Up until now it’s been the general understanding by the industry and the legal system that ‘It is what it is.’ WRONG!
