PDR Technicians: To Have A Money Making Machine, You Need Balance Part III
Now that you have made your pie chart and made a decision on how many hours you are willing to spend each week on each task, it’s time to go on to our next step. Now we’re going to cover “How to Have a Solid Structure in Place”. Putting a structure together will help you to keep on track with your duties and will require that you check it three to four times per day.
You will need to get an app for your phone that is a calendar so that you can put your information in and check it to be sure that you are staying within the time allotted for any particular task. These type of programs allow for color coding so that you know which task belongs to what part of the pie it coincides with. There are many apps and programs for this such as Google Calendars and Outlook. These two will communicate your schedule to your phone and if you make changes to your phone app, it will communicate that to your desktop.
An example of color coding could be that blue is for work that you are performing, green is for personal appointments which would include any entertainment, orange could be the hour or so that you allotted to marketing, so on and so forth. You would check this three to four times a day because you want to ensure that you are working within your preset parameters. If for example you have an appointment for giving a quote and they need to reschedule, you would get onto your calendar and move it and then decide what you would like to do to replace it. Always have a backup plan in place. Wasted time is lost money.
