Carpet Dyeing: How To Make Extra Money From This Up-Sell
Carpet dyeing is a service that not too many think about when preparing a car for sale, reconditioning a Classic, or just wanting to get the carpet looking better. Most people think that they will have to replace all of the carpet so shy away from the extra expense. It’s just not true, and it’s your job to educate them on this. I have found that car owners will literally try to cover up the damage with mats or something else that may be good for the very short term but not for the long.
This is an amazing extra stream of income and is included in our Interior Repair Package. So within two days you can learn the entire Interior Repair package.
How much can you, or should you, charge for Carpet Dyeing? Well for a Retail Client, where you are going to their home to do the service you would charge $60. If you are in fact going to a Used Car Dealership to perform the services, you will charge at a Wholesale rate because they can set you up with many cars and many services needed. Your Wholesale fee will be $40. This job is pretty quick and easy to do and your cost of materials used is only $3. Yep, just Three Dollars. This service should only take you about 30 minutes on average. So, if you did two cars at the dealership, you would be paid $80. Your supplies were $6 dollars, so you made $74 dollars profit for an hours worth of work. This would be especially profitable if you were doing more than just Carpet Dyeing. For example if you were performing Dent Removal, Carpet Dyeing, and Odor Removal you would make, with a retail client, $125 for the Dent Removal taking approximately 30 minutes, $60 for the Carpet Dyeing taking approximately 30 minutes, and Odor Removal $50 taking 10 minutes, per hour you would make $235 minus $6 for materials because PDR work has a $0 cost. So your profit is $229. Not bad for an hours work.
